“SHAPESHIFTING”

This project was inspired by the works of Italian photographer Franco Fontana. My goal was to capture the contrast of colorful Florentine architecture against the brilliant sky. As time went on, the project evolved to include fun, almost cartoonish edits of imagery. The buildings became very abstract, and in some cases, are not immediately identified as buildings. People, including abstract forms of people, were also later included as an additional element to give a sense of scale to some of the buildings, and bring back a sense of realism.
